Sheila Jacobs, a certified financial planner and CEO of Life & Money Consulting in Bucks County, was appointed treasurer of Urban Promise, a Camden nonprofit organization. She is also chairwoman of the Board’s finance committee.

Some of the free sites include SmartyPig, Zendough, Just Thrive, and Mint.com – which she remarks “is user friendly, and really fast to set up.” These sites give consumers a snapshot of their spending without looking at multiple billing statements.
“When we get our statements from various places – it’s all sort of ‘piecy.’ It’s wonderful that you can look here and have a pie chart.”

As the treasurer of the nonprofit organization, which helps to equip Camden’s children and young adults with the skills they need to succeed, Jacobs chairs the board’s finance committee.
As an investor, Jacobs became intrigued with the financial services industry and began a career in the field in 1995. She settled on a mid-sized firm.
She became a branch compliance associate and eventually began an independent practice.
Jacobs is former vice president of Philadelphia’s National Association of Women Business Owners, serves on the boards of Educational Solutions, Urban Promise Ministries and Women’s Business Forum of Bucks County.
She is the founder and chairperson of the Women’s Business Forum Mentoring Program.
